Hello and welcome...
I am Captain Daniel Reich, a USCG licensed captain for over 25 years. When I was about 15, my family moved to Islamorada, Florida, so my training ground, by default, became the Florida Keys, Florida Bay, and The Everglades... which was very lucky! I had also spent my formative years fishing in the northeast, where I was adept at targeting the gamefish available there. I can also make a reasonable claim to maybe/probably having landed the last fly caught Orange-Mouth Corvina from the Salton Sea... but that's another story.
My passion is showing people their "dream fish" in the super skinny... sight fishing with a fly rod. However, I'm comfortable fishing in fathoms of water and in inches of water, fresh or salt, moving or still. And I do have my fair share of light tackle clients. Whatever it takes, on any given day.
The Fish
Florida...
I spend most of my trips targeting Tarpon, Snook, and Redfish. However, we also chase Bonefish, Permit, Tripletail, Sharks, Barracuda, and whatever else can be found swimming in the waters of south Florida. Special requests are welcomed.
Northeast...
while fishing the northeast, I primarily target the "big three" gamefish species that are readily available... Striped Bass, Bluefish, and False Albacore. During spring and summer season, I am one of very few guides that can be found on a poling platform, sight fishing clients for Striped Bass.
